What did you do today to stay sober? What will you do tomorrow?

It's all about ACTION and working a PLAN, right?

Today I read and posted here and I looked up AA meetings in my area. I just wrote down, on a big sheet of paper, that I'm committing to attending a women's AA meeting next Tuesday at 7:30.

Tomorrow, I will read and post here again. I will also start a sobriety journal to keep myself mindful and write down my actions to stay sober. This is a commitment I will remember and follow through on.

Anyone else?

I think about that sometimes when I'm here. I have to remind myself that I'm here as part of a commitment to get sober, not for entertainment (although I DO enjoy being here!).

Focus on feeling good when I wake up in the morning vs the way it used to be....

I wish I had some spectacular list of organized activities...but I don't. The high today was 3 degrees Fahrenheit with snow on the way. I made sure I had my errands done by today, so all I had to do was drive the wife to work and pick her up. With that being said, sometimes just being sober is enough for the day. Was I a bit bored? Sure. Not gonna drink over it.

Went to work, then AA, took boys to scouts, now relaxing on SR and watching Polar Express with kids and wife. Oh and I didn't drink :-)

Today is day two. For 24 hrs or so, I kept this site up on my tablet, even thru body rocking shakes. I didn't drink. This morning I read all the new suggestions, went to an ER, got checked out and they sent me away, yeah, OK, I ain't done with this plan. I didn't drink. On the bus I hear someone else talking about an Alano club..my ears sent out the antenna :-) I followed them off the bus and viola' I'm at a meeting.
And I didn't drink.

Hi LadyFriend, happy to hear about your success. I like serendipity. Fate is on your side, that's a good sign of things to come. Keep it up.

And something you say could help someone else. Another way to look at it......

I had an unusually stressful situation at work today. If I'd been hungover I probably couldn't have handled it.
I really enjoy my job and likely wouln't be able to manage it if I was still drinking. So, I'm thankful for that and it reminds me why I don't drink any more.

Mostly today I enjoyed my life - I posted a little here, went to lunch with a good friend, a little more posting here...music later on...

tomorrow is similarly jam packed with good stuff...

life is good - but I can never forget every good thing comes from one decision I made in 2007 to get sober and stay that way

I read and post here daily. Tomorrow is the beginning of my winter break, and I am looking forward to having time with my kids.

Today, I'm going to a meeting at lunch, then meeting an AA member for coffee right afterwards. My gf's daughter has a hockey game tonight, so I'll he there as well to fill my time up.

Tomorrow, I plan to read a daily reflections in the morning, read/post on SR, and hit another meeting tomorrow night.

Meetings and readings,
I think it's time to break out the big blue book and wipe the dust off

Good luck everyone on another sober day,
K

For now, I remember all of the negative consequences drugs and alcohol had on my life, I come here and read and post, and spend quality time with my family that I was missing out on while using.

Tomorrow will probably be a repeat, it's what's working right now.

Today I have been enjoying my time off work, reading and posting here on SR. I've been doing some further recovery reading too.

Tomorrow - more of the same. I'm going to visit a family member in the afternoon then seeing my mum on the evening.
