One Year
I made it to a year! And it's been the best year of my life. I wish I would have been able to come on here and share more this past year but it was a pretty busy year.
I stayed sober by WANTING to stay sober more than I wanted a drink. And by seeing and addiction therapist, going to group therapy, reading and learning everyday about my addiction and meditating daily to find myself. I worked recovery every minute of every day. I have even....drum roll please...been to AA and prayed (despite my devout Aethism)...basically I did whatever I could and listened to whatever I was told (no matter how I felt about it) because in the end the absolute most important thing to me in this world is my sobriety. And I am grateful to say that I have been sober and LOVING it for a year and 2 days now!
(For all newcomers...when I first got sober for the millionth time last year...I was sure I was doomed to die and alcoholic....I didn't believe with one bit of me that I could last a day, a week, a month....but it happened. I thought I was the worst lost cause...and yet here I am...happier and healthier than I have ever been in my life!!!!! JUST KEEP TRYING!!!!!)

Btw - I see that you are a Blue Jays fan... I visited Toronto in September and absolutely loved it. What a city. Didn't get to see one of the Jays games but did see Europe at the World Cup of Hockey
