First day

I drink too much. I'd like to stop. Previous attempts have not worked out. I think a support group like this one could help me.

What to do at 5 pm

I know what I don't want to do. I need to fill that space with something positive.

Franklin,

It is not boredom, it is addiction.

It starts out both physical and mental. Relatively quickly it is mostly mental. That lasts a long time...19 months and counting in my case.

That is why i am posting. I need to routinely remember the hell i was in while drinking.

It is part of my recovery plan.

Thanks.

welcome, Franklin.

che ck out some of the threads that deal with making plans or 'what we did' and such, and you'll find lots of suggestions.

Hi Franklin..you can do it! First couple days are the hardest...gotta break the cycle....What I have learned is that "Just because you want to have a drink - does not mean that you have to have one"

Good Luck and this is a great place.
