Sober Sunday!
I just had my first sober Sunday that I can remember. Has it been years? Maybe. This past month I've cut back dramatically and my BIG GOAL was to not drink on Sunday, which has always been a foggy day and a terrible way to start the week.
I'm amazed at the reflections I've had as I've cut way back. 1. Alcohol has been a primary reason I've made some of the worst decisions in my life. I can't believe I didn't see the connection before. I had mainly written the bad decisions off as rights of passage and normal bad decisions that most people make. But no! They don't. I do, and did. Alcohol has caused me much pain and it should be given due credit. 2. Not drinking today freed up my brain to think more about others, instead of the usual checking out. It was a lovely thing to realize, that I can make more time for others when I stop trying to forget about everything.
I'm still one day at a time. This is my first post. Already I appreciate this community. Thank you for taking the time to read.

good job.
Sunday was always a heavy drinking day for me especially during football season.
I can't count how many times I drank at a bar till closing time on Saturday night, then went somewhere to drink until the sun came up, passed out for a few hours and was back at the bar by noon on Sunday to drink and watch football all day.
Today that routine would kill me.
