Snow Day and getting blasted
Snow Day and getting blasted
We're getting a winter storm today and the schools are closed. By 8:30am I thought, "Better get down to the store before the roads get too bad." I would of grabbed as many squeezy boxes of wine my raccoon hands could of found and headed back home to set up camp on the couch and drink my face off.
Today is day 14, I've made it to 2 weeks. The longest I've been sober in years. I can actually enjoy seeing the snow fall and use the day for fun projects and spending time with my little family. It's not easy but so much better.

Congratulations!! Two weeks is awesome!!!! I'm addicted to opiates. I've been on suboxone for a few weeks now. It's kinda the same for me, when I'm leaving the house I go....let me see...how long am I gonna be gone, how many pills do I need? Them I go, wait! ....you don't have to count pills anymore!! Still getting used to it!
This was nice to read. Living in Vermont where it is heavy winter, I so get the snow storm mindset. I found that once I got through the first couple and was able to actually relax and accomplish something - I found it easier to not think about drinking. It's nice to be present for family too!
