How do I know this is a Withdrawal headache

Hi,
I am 11 days sober! I was never a bottle of vodka a day drinker but I was getting outta control and drinking almost daily! Now it's been 11 days and I am still crying uncontrollably and have a headache that I feel will take me out and ringing in my ears! (The ringing has been for three years, maybe from drinking too!)
My question is: is this normal! I'm even taking migraine meds and nothing cures this pain!
Help! Before I feel like im going crazy! Thx

Welcome to SR.

I had terrible headaches after I quit, as bad as hangover headaches. They passed. That said, persistent headaches aren't normal. Perhaps you should be asking this question to your doctor.

I had a headache for a couple of weeks after I quit. My withdrawal symptoms lasted weeks, not days like others. Best thing is to see a Dr. And be honest about your drinking.

Welcome to the Forum Saxy!!

To be on the safe side, I'd check in with a Dr, it may be nothing, but it may be something, be safe!!

do you suffer from migraines? i'd caution against taking medications that aren't appropriate to your condition.

a visit to the dr is a good recommendation!!! also making sure to keep hydrated, well fed and well rested. maybe try lying down with a heating pad beneath your neck and shoulders. but do be careful about taking handfuls of pain relievers......

Hi Saxy, congratulations on 11 days

It is probably withdrawal related but best check with Dr to be on the safe side.

The ringing in the ears is similar to tinnitus which as far as I know is not drink related

Good luck
