I think it might just be working
My son called this morning and asked me if he could borrow a saw and would I bring it to a job site where he is working. No problem, any other time when I was actively drinking and or using I would have dreaded the drive and couldn't wait to get back home so I could start my drinking ritual for the day. I enjoyed the ride, the sun was shining and everything was beautiful. I even said no thanks to an offer to hit his pipe a couple times while I was there, that never happens! Just thought I would share that with you all. I guess I am sorta proud of myself. Sober since 10/15/16

I remember that feeling of suddenly being "available" if needed.
I got sober when my girls were in high school. I was available to give them a ride home when needed because some high school event was getting a little wild. That gave me piece of mind.
