Does anyone use the chat?

I really enjoy this site, but I'm afraid I will wear out my welcome from posting so much! I feel like connecting with you all is really helping me. Btw, this is day 9 and I've lost 5 lbs!

You can never wear out your welcome! I tried to chat a long time ago but, it felt like I was and outsider interrupting a conversation. I just said "Hi" stayed for awhile and left. If you feel chat would help you maybe someone can help you set up a room. Ooops, there is only one room I don't know how any of it works. I would be glad to join in.

Congrats on day 9 Bananas! You are welcome to use chat anytime you like, but you will never wear out your welcome by posting "too much" here either!

Congratulations on day 9!

I'm one week in and new here. I'm still learning my way around the forums and don't quite feel comfortable going to live chat yet. I'll get there eventually.

It takes some time getting used to, but everyone is so understanding here. It's a great site

Thanks! I agree I'm happy with the site so far.

Question:
Is there a way where you can be notified when someone replies to your comments? I keep going to my posts, and digging through threads to see but that's getting tiresome as the posts get longer. Looking for an easier way.

Congrats on 9 days and the weight loss. In my 43 days, I have lost 10 pounds and feel so much better now that my jeans fit comfortably again. Keep up the good work, you're doing great!

Posting to say you post too much, that's my trick. The best time to post (as I think you probably know) is when you do not want to. This SR stuff really is a real community. People care about what other's think. People apologise for not signing in earlier- then explain why. That's what people who care do. That's what you just did here. The difference here is the only care given is of the positive sort. So 44 bananas-with 9 (did you ever watch Star Trek - '7 of 9'? You could be 44 of 7) WELL DONE ON STARTING A BETTER LIFE AND POST NEXT TIME YOU DO NOT WANT TO POST, OR THINK THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCE (THERE ARE- GOOD ONES). OOPS CAPS LOCK. tYPING WITH K/BOARD ON MY LAP.
Prayers to you, PJ.

Mayeve,
I get an email when someone comments on a post.
Otherwise, I just go to "My Posts" and scroll down.

Thanks guys! I'm sure there will be hard days to come, but while I'm feeling so great, I will try to scroll through other's posts who need a shoulder. I'm too new to offer much advice, but I can definitely listen.

Sometimes you don't need to offer advice. A few kind words letting someone know that you read their post and will be wishing them well is enough. We all need to know that someone cares.

Is your Java up to date?

I use Firefox and have no problem. If you have to update, make sure you shut down and reboot before trying again.
