Knocked back a champagne offer after tennis tonight. Was tempted but No way, outlaws in town tomorrow.

Now home and very happy to be sober.

Mariah the garden here is in full spring bloom, need to cut the grass around the house every week. The potatoes we're growing has jumped up.

I like it when an old member comes back.

Good to see you Soli, you are still welcome to keep posting in here too.

Good job passing on the champagne obo, alcohol solves nothing but causes many problems of it's own.

Thanks for the new thread Dee.

In for the bargain.

UP, I don't know how I missed that Hoover? lol.

Solil, how wonderful to hear you're back on track, great job.

We have visitors coming tomorrow night too, Obo. Just for the weekend, but they do drink a fair bit. It's nice to see them, but I don't like breaking my routine too much. I feel safe in my routine.

Has your lodger arrived Mariah?

.

Glad to see you back on SR Lady shipwreck, ....

Yea, Free,... I know what ya mean about house guests always wantin' to eat,...

Working nights,.....I'm usually sleeping during breakfast hours and don't think about food much during the day ,...except cookin' food for my shift.

After installing the last piece of stove pipe this am,...got to try a test run on the wood burner with the windows and doors open for the initial burn today !! Manufacturer warned to expect some fumes during the maiden fire ,....

First winter the cottage will feel. actually warm . Looking forward to seeing the fire after dark later,...and it's forecast to be chilly ,... (by my standards anyway ) 45 F = 7.22 C

Felt the triple walled chimney pipe at different elevations and it's def. cool enough to be safe .

Up,...funny cat-in-a -shark costume-riding-a-Rumba vid .

Obo,...your garden sounds awesome !

Yea, Mariah ,.... I like Freein's term ,... " lodger "

So how is your new lodger ?

Having a good morning, it's the lottle victories isn't it.

Tops we've got the Ned Kelly wood burners, flue through the ceiling. But through the winter we didn't use it well, let too much heat out.

Good luck Freein, any drinking visitors are work in my opinion.

Sober sunny day here.

LSW- Glad you are back. Keep up the good work!

Obs- I'm happy you passed on the champagne and are enjoy some sun/garden!

Mariah- I've been running around busy as well. Glad you are finding some time to chill!

Tops- Your posts never fail to inspire me to keep my head down and work hard!

Freein- Hope the visitors go well! I was fine around all my family last week at thanksgiving with no major issues, so you can do this!

I've been MIA for a bit. My apologies there! Everything is still good on my end. I did have a bit of a realization about AA and where I am with it. I've sort of always had one foot in and one foot out with AA. Leave what I need and take what I don't is the philosophy I've taken. It's worked well to this point; however, on Monday I caught myself speaking at a meeting and realizing afterwards, I didn't even believe what I was saying. It kind of shook me to my core.

Since then, after some reflection and talking to others, I decided that I needed to look for some alternative inspiration. I'm in a good place with my recovery, but I don't want to be disingenuous and just pretend to be Mr. AA. So I decided to attend my first SMART Recovery meeting last night. It went well and I'm looking forward to continue attending.

Besides that, life is good. School continues to be a challenge, but mainly against my procrastination. It is however a confirmation of the direction I want to go. I am thankful recovery has led me to discover wanting to help people through counseling. Anyways guys, I got a bit of homework and then hopefully a good night sleep. In for the bargain!

Hi All....just home from work after a long day of decorating....was fun but I am exhausted.

Yes, lodger has arrived. Haven't talked with him too much but seems to be a very responsible, clean, respectful person. Paid me for 2 months rent so I am glad for that! He goes to work before I do so is nice I will have my space in the am & sounds like he is active....hiking, exploring so will be off doing his own thing on the weekends so think it will be a good arrangement.

Wish I could comment on all posts as I love reading from everyone but just too tired tonight.

And we're off.
Outlaws arrived at 1am.
49 days to go.
Literally can't stand my mother in law.
Just stares at me, the idiot.

Anyway, I'm not reacting to anything for 7 weeks, so that's lucky.

What a test.

In for the bargain.

Just think of it as school term Obo - you've done that before...and you can always find a quiet spot away from others if you need it.

You can do this Obo! Nothing is worth breaking your chain of sobriety. Would this be a good time to go back to crossing out days on the calender - to have a visual of your unbroken chain?

I'm spending the day Christmas shopping with my friend who's staying for the weekend. Not much to buy because my family have all decided not to buy presents this year. I know........ Baa Humbug! But I really do recommend it as a sanity strategy.

Have a great day all

Thanks Freein.

Day 1 finished, very difficult.
Every time I look at my MIL, I feel sick, off, angst.
She has hurt me in the past, and something inside me won't forget. So it's all part of anger again, I'm angry at her and I cannot drop it.
Great lesson and practice here, for real, to upset her would upset my wife, then baby as a result.
I'm holding the cards, reminds me of Jung' s archetype The Joker, I need a game face in life, a defence system for my feelings, so I don't react because I don't care....

Sober Sunday.....
and they drank gin last night, I hate Gin.

Do you have any physical work to do around there obo? Put the anger into chopping wood or something else physically demanding. I used to do that in the past.

I still recommend seeking some counseling to help you work out the anger.
