Had a couple drinks...

So...I met up with my ex before she left town for a trip..Ended up at a bar.. I had a few(3-4) beers and dinner.. This led me into a tailspin(of course) and I spent Sat/Sun with some Vodka. Hadn't been to a meeting in a few days so, I nursed my hangover yesterday and didn't drink. Forced my ass off the couch at 7am this morning and went to a meeting. Weird thing was the only store on my way home after the meeting was a liquor store and I needed cigs. I went in and felt empowered from the meeting to not buy another bottle of vodka. Got my cigs and left. Going back for another meeting tonight. I do need AA/structure. So, I guess I'm back to day 2.

Thanks, guys. The weird thing... obviously on friday night after a few beers, I was 'fine'.. Then sat morning ,she left, I drove to my buddys and stopped to get a bottle of vodka. I didn't and won't ever drive drunk again...Then Sun on my way home... I stopped and got another small bottle.. I heard a song the other day, with the lyrics:"I drink because i'm lonely, I'm lonely because I drink". This is not the case with me.. I really don't get lonely.. I think a big part of mine is letting my ex back in my life, without knowing where we stand..the unknown..the fear. These are my "excuses" to drink.

Well at least no one here said anything about you drinking and driving? Was that wise?

Been there, done that.

A glass of beer leads to a gallon of vodka.

Yep...Not sure why I even pulled into the parking lot(s). Boredom? Missed a couple meetings by hanging with the ex(not blaming her)?...alcoholic? (YEP!!).

Welcome back, you can do this!!

For me though I needed to draw a line under being a drinker, I was now a "non drinker" and my old habits with old friends needed to change, it can be done!!
