Ah yes, so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving Leigh.
Suze, it'll be such an adventure to make the transition to living here in the US and marriage too. Talk about a giant leap! Wow! Great things on the horizon for you two. I wish my gang could move to NZ but alas I'm too old. They won't have me
Other than eating deliciously and recklessly, we've been to a couple of lovely waterfalls. There is a surprising amount of gorgeous fall foliage still hanging on here. It's generally gone by now.
So I'm told the crab cakes are ready (oh boy oh boy)! Time to eat again....Monday will bring my strict return to workouts and diet so I'll indulge for now.
How'd Turkey day go Conquest?
Wishing all the gang the best weekend.

Too old Mark? Really? They have rules in NZ about that kind of thing....sheesh.
Australia and NZ are supposed to be the free-thinking places....one has these rules and one decides who can and cannot get married? Hmm.
NZ would be lucky to have you....they are probably just worried that all of the women would fall in love with you.
And thank you....today has been a very very bad day....not so sure this is going to work out.

Glad you're feeling better Suze
Hello Leigh
I never checked into how it works if one marries a kiwi lady, but most of their visa options have age restrictions. One can 'invest' their way in though and over a certain (rather large) sum, poof!, the age restriction goes away. I really would like to consider splitting my time between modest residences one of these days. Too much daddy responsibilities left to look at that very much just yet and that's fine with me.
I've just returned from a nice trail ride with my oldest daughter. It was beautiful as there is a surprising amount of fall foliage still hanging on this late in the game.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks!

Glad to hear that things are better, Suze! And happy to hear that you're enjoying your travels, Mark! Y'all have had quite an adventurous month!
Turkey Day was great here...lots of family and too much food. We've still got leftovers. Ugh.
Home alone while the guys are away at the honing spot. The dog and I need a movie and a comfy couch. Gnight all!

I love how happy you sound Mark.
I think your kids are really lucky to have you as a dad.
Awesome Conquest huny, sounds like turkey day wasn't too stressful for you, glad you had fun....wondering what movie the dog chose for you two tonight.
Glad you had another wonderful day dearest Leigh.
So much love to my beautiful Octsobers.

"We" ended up watching Laughing in the Dark by Chonda Pierce, a hilarious southern female comedian. (It's free on Prime, if you're a member.). It was really, really good... Her stand up was mixed in with a memoir including her husband's struggle with alcohol during the last few years of his life which surprised me. I laughed and cried through the whole thing. She's written a book as well. It'll be next on my list.
I've got a long to do list today that includes finishing up the outdoor Christmas lights. They've proven to be a pain, but I know it'll be worth it. The sooner I get started, the better!
What's everyone else up to?

Well hello gang!
No Christmas decorations up here. This has been an interesting few weeks....when I left for NZ it was a couple of days after Halloween and autumn really getting started around here. Then presto the pastels and blooms of full-on spring. Some of my pics look like postcards. . I get back and we spin around and leave for Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday. Now it's full steam ahead Christmas all around! Wow, still seems like it should be Halloween. Thanksgiving almost slipped by, too fast for me.
Tomorrow will mark my return to routine and I'm ready for a bit of that. Gym time will come early and I'm ready to grab some weights! No travel plans here until I take my girls to SoCal in March.
Conquest, I'm so glad you're here.
