I am on day 9 and overnight started a horrible flu....feel crappy but at least the next 3 days or more i am good....blessing in disguise?!?

Feel better! Sorry you have the flu but, as you say, could be a blessing in disguise if it makes the next day or two easier with regard to cravings and wrestling with getting a drink.

I had manflu during early recovery which gave me a couple of days respite from the cravings. Every little helps

Thanks for well wishes. Today is rough, pretty ill but still checking in. This flu has its grips in me. Its ironic how much i read and re-read medications (always have) for interactions and minimum dosage. One thing is clear, i overlooked the "do not mix with alcohol". I distinctly remember having a cig or drink because alcohol cures anything and a cig helps with the cough......how delusional was that!?!? Regardless day 10 in the books...

Maybe get a plan together, what you'll do when a craving hits or someone offers you a cocktail or......you're in the store or your brain says "You got this, you habe 20 days sober, you don't have a problem"

I see the therapist for the first time on monday. Until then i will be ill, and then this weekend is all planned as well. Keep checking in here and AA if the AV needs a kick in the arse.
