Each day I look for a reason not to drink. Today was a text from my fifteen-year-old son. We are having family visit us early December. In his text he said, " I hope you don't drink when they come." It took me back to my own childhood and my mother's drinking and how I used to beg her not to drink. It makes me feel very sad that I have instilled that same feeling in my son for him to even mention something like that. How sad.

the benefit of knowing that not taking a drink is the next right thing to do!

Sunshine, you can begin to make new memories for your son this Christmas. Give him the chance to see you interacting with your family members and being sober. You can do this!
