Thank You To Everyone on SR
One year and two hours and 36 minutes since I last drank and it's all thanks to this community.
Before that I'd been drinking heavily since I was 13, I'm 53 next birthday, so that's a lot of booze.
My life is infinitely better, depressive episodes few and far between, relationships more meaningful, finances completely in order, my house is clean and tidy and I'm feeling fitter and healthier than ever.
Essentially, I've ripped everything up I thought I knew about myself and started a new journey of the soul and I don't intend to let it stop any time soon.
As if all that wasn't enough, a week tomorrow I'm moving to Australia to start a new life. Go me (literally).
None of this would have been imaginable before I popped up here.
You're all such beautiful people it seems wrong to single anyone out for special thanks but I'm going to...
Dee, I'm pretty sure you saved my life with your continual support and encouragement and words of wisdom. And Red Andy who has been by my side the whole way, cajoling me along. Cheers guys.
And thank you to everyone who responded to my first ever post and brought me to my senses. That was the very start of my new life.
I will not be drinking this evening. :-)
