For the first time in several years, I've been sober more than 1 week. Wow, this is harder than I thought. I got off easy on the physical withdrawal, and I know that. I'm grateful, I really am. The emotional side is a lot tougher this time.
Doing a couple things differently to help me make it.
I'm here, and thank you for the encouragement!
I'm journaling. It helps me remember how bad it was and why I don't want to go back. I'm a writer, so journaling is an outlet for me. Who knows, maybe it will be a book one day.
I admitted to a few people that I was sober. These were people who didn't realize I wasn't. I guess I hid it well. I've also admitted to a few people who did know or suspected. I feel that admitting it "publically" will help me to stay the course.

Good luck and keep it going! I am on day 8 right now. HUGE for me. Sometimes I wake up and still think that I drank last night and then catch myself and say "wait a minute - no I didn't!"
Looking forward to getting to the point where I feel like it is out of mysystem to feel what that feels like.
Keep it going and congrats!
