Day 2, 3rd attempt
Have tried cutting down as I don't drink every day but have no stop valve and always have one too many. Hate feeling rough in the morning, worrying about if I smell of booze. Want to be free from ever wanting a glass of wine again. So culturally ingrained but reading this naked mind which makes loads of sense. Eating lots of chocolate tonight though!!!!

So glad you are here Totty! I did alot of reading when I first got sober too, ate a bunch of choclate too haha! Do what ya gotta do to not pick up that glass of wine, read, post here, sip tea coffee or some sparkling water, sleep, take walks, eat ice cream or chips or chocolate or whatever! stay busy and your mind focused on other productive things! I tore my bathroom apart in my first weeks of sobriety, redid the whole thing from the floor up...lol
Best wishes and be blessed!

I understand, tottyh; I don't have an 'off' switch when it comes to alcohol and that is why I can never drink, it never ends well. Welcome-this is a great place for advice and support. It's been invaluable to me.
Ahhhh, yes. The dreaded cloudy head, praying I don't smell like booze when I go into work. Keeping everybody at arm's length for the morning, until the dull din of the weariness of the afternoon takes over. Absolutely knackered by the end of the day and proud that I made it through alive. So proud, I convince myself I can have just a couple tonight.
You don't have live that way anymore, there is a way out. Plenty of people here to testify to that. Hope you stick around and start to see it.
