I understand those feelings of disappointed and shame all too well. Don't dwell there though, as it can hold you back from moving forward. Develop a plan for quitting (there are tons of examples and resources here on SR for doing that) and continue moving forward. Addiction is exhausting. Today is the day to begin living free from it.

Congrats on making the decision to quit. That's not an easy decision to made cause it means letting go of something we are familiar with and going through the process of making changes and not too many people are crazy about making changes IMO. Like someone said earlier; all you need to do is not drink today then wake up tomorrow and do the same. John

Stopping seems hard. One of my tricks was to push it off for an hour. then another then another. Get to midnight and you've made it through a whole day.
