Day 12
Sober now 12 days. My mom just sent me a text and told me that the card I gave her for her birthday was the most beautiful card she has ever received, and that she will keep forever. None of that would have happened if I wasn't sober because I probably would not have even gone out for her birthday because I would have been secretly still fighting my alcohol demons. The better I get and longer I stay sober I also regret ever drinking in the first place and causing the turmoil that I did, as I realize how unnecessary drinking was in my life. But I do have faith in my Higher Power and believe it all happened for a reason, and that it is my journey that has shaped me into who I am. My relapse brought me closer to my Higher Power and has caused me to enrich my spiritual life, thus becoming a more spiritual individual and thus more effective in my relationships with self and others.
