Update on my CO trip
I told you all I would check in. I have been on vacation for 3 days now and have 3 more days to go. First vacation sober and I am LOVING IT! The scenery here is absolutely breath taking. I'm not consumed with how many drinks I can fit in, starting the day with alcohol, no hangovers. Some of my family has drank in front of me and I am aware of it BUT it's not pulling me to it. It is very possible to have fun and not drink. I see the beauty more than I would have if my mind had been clouded. I stick with separating myself near the end of the night and reading the big book and praying and keeping in touch with my sponsor!
Linz,
Agree. It is nice being sober on vacation.
I have taken several since quitting and I had more energy than ever.
I had 0 major issues w my wife as well during the trips. This is worth quitting drinking alone.
My Dad and family drink a bit, so when we visited together it was tough. They did the usual...get drunk...have drama...lol...
But, I managed w out any slip. It was interesting watching them go from crave to drunk to hung over. I was perky as a pup...consistently ea. Day.
Thanks for the post.
