Vinificent

I need to start a gratitude list because today I am feeling defeated and unaccomplished. I am at the point in my journey that I no longer feel like staying sober is enough, and the old insecurities and dissatisfaction with my life are creeping in and threatening my recovery.

So I will start with the most important :
1. I am most grateful for my two childen who are both responsible adults with college degrees and full time jobs.

Commiting to another one tomorrow 👍

Today I am grateful for the Tuesday evening meditation meeting at my recovery club. It is a great group of people who run that club, where there are AA and other recovery meetings 7 days a week. I cannot be as involved as I would like to be due to the distance from my work, but I am sincerely grateful to those dedicated volunteers who keep that special place going for those of us who rely on it for support in our sober journey.

So appreciating how sobriety let's me be comfortable with myself. The worst trigger for me is boredom and loneliness, but the longer I go in my journey the easier it is to be with myself, relax, and enjoy time alone.

Today I am grateful for my job. I know it well, do it well (at least according to my last performance review), I am fairly compensated and I like most of the people I work with. The best part is that I can work from home 2 days per week. I will surely need to read this again on another day when things at work didn't go so well!

Today I am grateful for being able to stay up past my bedtime. I might be cranky in the morning but at least I didn't pass out early and wake up with a hangover!
