Dry Wedding
Dry Wedding
I'm going to be my friend's plus one at a dry wedding. Apparently, most of the wedding party and a lot of the guests are in AA. I look at this as a blessing. I hope I meet some new people that can point me in the right direction 😃
I hope everyone has a great day...I have been to a few dry weddings. ( work related) one was a Salvation army wedding, the others were due to their faith, Islamic, and Seven Day Adventist.....and everyone looked like they had a great celebration!

A dry wedding sounds good. I used to work weddings so I went to several hundred. The times things got out of control were summed up by "open bar" - people would make fools of themselves when the booze was free and they would not know when to stop.

One of the greatest surprises for a long time boozer it that is possible to have a great time sober. I just knew when I quit drinking I would never have fun again. Wrong. Not only can I have a lot of fun, I can remember it!
Hopeful
I try to remember all the times pre alcohol where I had fun, but it's hard because I've suffered from depression for a long time. I am going into this optimistic, however, because I owe it to myself to have fun sober, free, and completely aware of my experience!
I remember thing the same thing about myself. And then realising that all, that time I was depressed I was drinking. So that's one thing I KNOW doesn't work. Lol.
