So sad and happy.......we only get one go at this short life
Dont know if any of you guys remember the hit song about the class of 74 by The Connells - "74-75" It has somehow always resonated with me (not just because that year almost fits perfectly for me - I am 2 before) as its about life and moving forward.
They took the year book photos of a bunch of kids and then went back about twenty years later and filmed them, all set against the sound track of "74-75". I have absolutely loved this video for years. But, now tonight, I have found that they did it again another twenty years on, the people are now in their fifties.
They also filmed "The Connells" now as well. I am blown away by the whole thing. It brings everything in to perspective.....we have one life and it passes so, so quickly. I challenge any of you not to be moved by these two clips.
Sadly, I am not a computer geek and cannot provide links.
Just you tube, google, its there, waiting for you.
Happy viewing.

The Connells? ? ?74-?75? brings back the cast of the original video | News & Observer
about it; it also refers to the "7 Up" documentary series which I remember from years ago.
Time passes. I've learned that the essential heart within stays the same

Lolly, I'm really glad you posted this - I didn't know about the song/video. I don't think it was as big a hit in the States as it was elsewhere. I love it. Didn't have chance to look at the newly edited one from 2015, but will later.
Lolly, I finally got chance to view the updated version. I got very emotional too - can't say exactly why. I'd love another shot at part of my life. So now the song is in my head and won't leave....
The new version has the names of the people who participated. It was sad the man in the wheelchair had passed on.

Reminds me of the 7 Up series . . . great tune!!
I always think about the 20yr older me, and the 20yr younger me . . . what would they say to each other, what wisdom would they pass on!!
A quote I heard some time ago . . .
"The definition of hell is the person that you became, gets to meet the person you could have been"
