9 months today
I don't post on here as much anymore... Mostly because I'm doing so well on my own and don't need it like I used to. This site was such a great place for me to come to when I first became sober.
Celebrating 9 months today.
Crushing goals since I quit drinking:
-qualified for boston marathon
-winning age group places at marathons
-in the healthiest relationship I've ever been in
-happy - on my own. Not relying on others for my happiness and I choose to be happy
-I allow myself to feel my emotions - even when I feel sad I accept it. When I feel sad, I still feel happy because I'm finally feeling- not numbing the emotions.
-made real friends through the running community and left my drinking friends
I still like to check in on the site every now and then and I'm so glad it is a resource I have that I can come back to whenever I need.
Thank you to everyone on here for your advice and just listening. Sometimes that's all I need is someone to listen.

congrats on 9 months and the healthy lifestyle you are living, I truly believe one of the best things for overcoming addiction to alcohol is diet and exercise coupled of course with a good recovery program, with that said 9 months sober is still early recovery.
