I think it's fair to say all of us have experienced insomnia at some point on the road to recovery and I was just reading when I saw this it maybe obvious it maybe something you have never thought of
I will never forget the first initial early days, weeks & months of recovery so with that I hope this may help someone today

I ll never forget first days too. Fever and heavy sweating every night to the point I had to change clothes and bed sheets.
Stay strong those going through this, I am now on day 47 and sleeping great every night, you ll all get there too.

Wow SW! I have to take a medicine before bed that needs to be taken with food with a high fat content. Cheese has always been my go-to snack; but now I see it can cause insomnia, so maybe I'll have to switch to cookies!
I guess I'm kind of weird. The days after I quit (46 days ago) posed no problem for me and sleep. I have always been able to fall asleep, usually from 42 years of steady drunkenness. I used to have night sweats all the time, I haven't in this new state of sobriety. And I am not complaining about it. I do know that the fact that I walk 2 miles every evening at about 7:30pm has made my sleep seem so much more relaxing, but that could be due to me getting the exercise I need along with eating hearty. I'm 5'-8" and weigh 165 lbs.
For those who are having sleep problems, maybe try some evening physical activity.
Hope we all git 'er done!
