What is Happening to me?
What is Happening to me?
Hi everyone hope all well, day 14 clean and determined to keep it that way. Anyway, after a rough week with acute withdrawal symptoms and then a settled period..... until today, I woke up like I had a hangover, with nausea, headache, just feeling crap generally and cravings. Just wondering if anyone had this rebound situation and what did they do, I got up had good breakfast went to shops for walk, not feeling too bad now and will go for long walk later, any thoughts greatly appreciated, thanks.

Had this happen to me today as well worst day of my nearly week sober..felt hungover, anxiety but without the cravings.. i stayed as busy as possible, spent time with friends and at the shops. Stay strong x
It;'s pretty common to get sick once we get sober.
I know my immune system was working overtime when I was on a diet of beer and cigarettes...cut out the artificial stimuli & our immune system collapses in a heap...
it takes things a little time to right themselves again, but they will
Hope you guys feel better soon.

Carling,
I had hangover feelings for months after I quit.
But, they usually went away quick, unlike a real hangover.
Headache, red eyes etc.
Body is healing, toxins are everywhere. In every nook.
It gets better and better.
Now I am so clean, I have to learn how to deal w the world this way.
It is like learning to live again.
Stay clean.
Thanks.

I also think it's important to remember that we are not going to feel great every day of our lives. I think that recovery involves learning to accept and deal with days like that. I hope you continue to feel better and congratulations on your 2 weeks sober!
Couldn't agree more

Hi All hope you all well this Monday just a little update, I survived the weekend poison free and have taken on a new mission, its 15.12pm Monday afternoon and not a cigarette today, I am using the brain power I have learned from SR to apply to quitting smoking. Since I no longer frequent pubs etc. eating and exercising better it has spurned me on to quit the cigs, so far so good, 20 a day man, I bought an electric cigarette as crutch but I forgot to take to work this morning (probably due to PAWS LOL HAHAHHAHHA) and will just go cold turkey. Feeling Good now but have another battle in hand now, bring it on baby
