Came close to drinking twice
Two days in a row I decide at work I'm going to drink when I get home. It takes me 30 minutes to get home and both days I have talked myself out of it at the last minute.
Once I accept the fact I'm not going to drink I become grateful that I didn't give in ... but wow .... 3 months sober and it is becoming harder now than ever.

in aa we have things called "tools" to combat the urge to drink
meetings - im probably not drinking while there
sponsor - a trusted friend who will listen to my whining (not calling anyone else a whiner). maybe a winer
service- while helping others i aint thinkin' about drinkin'

I'm glad you didn't give in either Volshen, but it doesn't seem like a fun way to live white knuckling.
I know you left AA - maybe its time to reconsider that - or maybe now it's time to turn your attention to finding something to take its place?
