Does sober recovery have meetings in Lansing Michigan?
Hi guys. I've been sober for almost 4 months now, but I'm struggling with my social life and would like to make some sober friends. I will do AA if I have to but would like an alternative. Does sober recovery host meetings, or would anyone like to meet for coffee? I'm in the Lansing Michigan area. Thanks.
Hi and welcome back butwhatsinaname
we're an online site, though - not a recovery method.
We do have chat room meetings here on recovery themes every Tues and Fri nights at 9 EST.
if you're looking for face to face meetings, it's probably best to go to website of the recovery method of your choice and look at the meeting schedules there
There's many different approaches and methods of recovery around - here's some links to some of the main meeting based players, including but not limited to AA:

Thanks guys. Yes I probably should just attend AA but I have severe social anxiety that I think is hindering me. I'm also worried I won't know how to find the meeting once I am there and I can't ask people because it is anonymous. I'm not really a fan of all the doctrine, but it seems like the best bet to find a community I guess
If you see people outside the building smoking, that will almost certainly be where the meeting is. And I beleive you can ask others if there is an AA meeting in the building; that shouldn't be a breach of anonymity.
