Recovery is....

Watching my bunnies run and hop freely

What little things in life do you now appreciate being sober?!

I would have to say being able to answer my phone or compose a coherent email after 8pm would be on of the best things about sobriety

The sounds. I love hearing birds, wind, waves crashing the lake shore...

Laughing. Seeing the humor in the world and myself. Laughing with friends and telling jokes to the dog

I have quite a list! Waking up without a hangover is near the top.
In the 18 months or so I've been sober, I've had a day or two of feeling poorly (cold, flu etc). Being sick is rough, but being sick and hung over really sucks! Or, not know the difference.

Agreed, hangover free mornings are definitely at the top of the list! Also, looking at your bank account and realising that you still have money left because you haven't spent it all on wine!

I notice that I give my dogs and cats excellent care when I'm sober. No more missed walks and meals. Their good health is reflected in their happy faces. And that makes me happy.

Clear thinking. Being able to make decisions. Following through with a plan. Seeing clearly and taking in the moments of the day.

Hi blueberry! One of the only things that makes me happy is seeing another member who is persevering in sobriety despite rough spots or life's problems- and you are that. You are really doing it
