Just been out for few drinks ( orange juice) with some good sensible understanding mates and just got home and feel utterly deflated and down. No idea why I don't even want to have a drink, don't really know what it is.

Sending positive vibes your way, we all get these days sometimes, not sure that helps when your "in it" though.
A good sleep helps me, if you can get some.
xx

Whenever I am low, I try to remember
one of many true sayings I learned in
early recovery and continue to apply
it some 26 yrs of many one days at a
time sober.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

Remembering these words always
lift me up and gives me hope for a
new day coming and feeling better.

All it is is growing pains in recovery.

To grow, mature, get stronger,
healthier in many areas of our lives.

Hang on, breath and keep life simple.

Mate you've been out and drank OJ instead of booze. That's one thing to be happy about at the very least. Just imagine how bad it would be if you'd had a relapse. Get to bed, chill out and tomorrow is a new day buddy.

Hey James - mind plays tricks on us on the very early days, you did amazing in staying sober. Give it some time and the joy will soon take over.

I thought this was dumb when someone told it to me, but it works; go to a mirror, look at yourself, and smile. It really helps. And like someone said above, be proud that you went out and only drank oj.

Hi James , even non alcoholic people get like this some times . however in the first month of stopping drinking my emotions were all over the place including feeling low for long spells and flashes of anger with tears . Its part of the healing process .

Wishing you well

One thing that helps me on my down days and lord knows I have a lot of them is the passage.

Rejoice in this day the Lord has made be happy.

There just are so many things to be grateful for all we have to do is look around us. We have real problems but we have real blessings to
