I'm back but I need your help again and always!
I'm back but I need your help again and always!
Been a bit dejected after starting of well in Class Jan 2015 and failing miserably.
In my absence from SR, I have taken note of when I do and when I don't drink. I can go to a party or camp out with alcohol flowing everywhere but not have a drop .
Yet here I am at home and the urge for a drink is extreme. Blackouts are common. My wife and I are business partners and work from home. We see each other all day, the kids pop in once in a while but I am lonely. WHY?
I have so much to do around the house too but as any alcoholic will tell you, "I'm going to do it tomorrow".
I need to start a Sober Recovery AGAIN
And the PLAN, yes I have the plan installed
Please help

Hey James. Get your mind I'm recovery mode. I'm not sure what your routine was in January but you were doing something right. Try to fill the void with a hobby that you have forgotten about or try something new. Tackle that house work cranking some of your favourite tunes. Good luck!
Hi James,
Have you try getting busy doing something you actually really want to do? Work, house stuff, that occupies your time but not necessarily your mind.
It is only when I worked that out that my attempts at recovery started getting somewhere (like you I am also here trying to quit alcohol but I haven't touched drugs for 6 years).
You can do this, sober up to start with, go through your detox and once your head clears up start building the person you want to be.
Also join the August class with us, plenty of people in a similar situation making some very good progress.

Hi James good to see you. Seems like you are pretty close to breakthrough, as you say you just need a few tweaks for when the cravings hit. If it's an evening thing then go for a walk or something similar
It is good that you are back here i'm sure you will get some sound advice
