Anyone have local knowledge of recovery / detox options for someone really on their last rounds (mid-binge after 7+ previous inpatient stints and on the edge of going down for their last)?
Trying to provide some type of lifering from afar.
Any help appreciated.

FO, I would go with Venecia's information.
at this point I believe they have exhausted all finances and any financial support from anywhere.....
I understand Hazelden is pricey.
Have located some social services that may help....
Probably gonna make a marathon drive there..... he has very few options willing to help.
He's not even answering me now, but I can't see not at least trying.

Can you get his family to section him? Involuntary Commitment for Addiction
That seems like the best bet. Get him into detox asap?
Also....Bring him to the ER and have him tell them he is suicidal....if he is really on his last legs and still drinking then he IS suicidal. They will keep him for a minimum of 48 hours....

Thanks all. Wound up making the drive with a friend and we contacted the COPE program. They helped us get him hospitalized.
Been a very long day, but it was the right thing. I'm not sure he would have seen tomorrow. At least now he will have a shot at making a new choice to get help and try again.

well... damn. He was released from psych. Wouldn't go to detox. Is expressing willingness to get outpatient / IOP / Group Home.....
but SO frustrating that they just turned him out and sent him onto the street without arranging a handoff to something.
What a system.
Now trying to arrange some additional connections for him locally - or it's back to square one.

You're not shackled to not drinking, you're free from drinking

FreeOwl, it may be too late but COPE is a Hennepin county program. You might also try this, http://www.hennepin.us/residents/human-services/treatment-chemical-addiction
