Hello everyone, Kurt here
Hi everyone,
My name is Kurt and I am new to this forum.
I live in Northern Thailand, but am Canadian.
As of Aug 12, 2016, I am 17 days sober again. Have done different amounts of years sober in the past in NA... 1, 1, 1, 3, 6+ and 7+ years clean at different times in the past. I am currently not attending any 12 Step meetings.
In the past, I have found that meetings in concjunction with Wellbutrin medication, helped me to stay clean/sober the longest (over 7 years). Wellbutrin is also a mild antidepressant, which is how I found out about it, because at one point in my life, I was quite down.
I have nothing against the Program, it saved my life. However I do not plan on attending any more meetings, unless absolutely neccessary and am looking at other options, that is why I am here.
For those pushing program, been there, done that. Did the steps, did service work, served at regional level, H&I Chair, etc. Glad it was there when I needed it, but not for me anymore. I still use a lot of the tools and have nothing against the Program, just looking for more. Happy recovery everybody and thank you for letting me be part of this forum. Kurt
