I'm new here but happy to be here

Hi all. My name is Lori, I'm new here. I'm 7 days sober after spending the entire summer drunk. I finally had enough on August 19 th and put it down for good. I was shocked that day 4-6I actually had withdrawal symptoms, even I didn't realize how much I drank. I was in denial. Today is the first day I have felt good. Better than good, I feel great, I'm thinking clearly, smiling and just thankful to be sober. I'm looking.forward to learning so much about all of you and looking forward to hitting many milestones in the future, thank you all for having me

Welcome, Lori!

I have been sober a few years, and find that I really need to work at it. Alcohol is promoted everywhere in our society, and there are many temptations to drink. I find that only by reading and posting here frequently, and by going to AA meetings, can I stay sober.

I hope this is the beginning of a permanent recovery for you!
