Greatly enjoying my trip to the rockies so far.

Only my first day and 1/2 way to Jasper but it's been great so far! Knock on wood. No real temptation despite the fact that I ate in a pub restaurant. Although to be honest i don't think most liquor establishment will ever really tempt me because I never drank at those. For me drinking king has been alone, by myself to fill loneliness and depression. So for me the danger is boredom, loneliness and stress. Which I don't have to worry about now, but will in the future. To be honest I only drank heavily for a few months compares to most.

So glad to hear you are enjoying yourself!
Also glad that the pub/restaurants aren't a trigger for you.

Hope there are going to be photos.

Whilst driving and being active the temptations can subside, but when you set up camp, just remember you can get lonely, bored and depressed quite fast if your mind is not distracted.

I went camping once by myself for 4 nights and nearly went nuts from the solitude . And when I went backpacking i nearly got alcohol poisoning because even though I was surrounded by people, I still felt extremely lonely. So obviously i drank

Other then that, srry for my negativity iam just observing the traps.

But I hope you enjoy your trip. I hope you took a fishing rod 😉

Oh what a wonderful adventure! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

Like you I was a solatary drinker, I didnt like to get out of control out in public and could easily have one and no more, that was until I got back to my comfort zone....Alone. Also like you, my drinking progressed only in the last 15 months or so. I had experienced a significant loss in my life and it all went downhill from there! It really doesnt matter though, the amount of time we suffered, ya know? The fact is is that we did, and enough for us to be here! We all have different thresholds and bottoms and obviously it was long enough to bring us both here!

Anyways, please enjoy your time to the fullest! Post pictures if you can!
