Glad you're back, tonib! You are right--no sense beating yourself up. Maybe come here and post before you pick up the drink next time? Anyway--we're alcoholics. Our brains are wired to go to booze whenever we feel bad, or good, or just plain feel. But we have a choice to not pick up. Eventually we can get to a place where we don't automatically think of booze and have better, healthier ways to deal with our problems. Hang in there. We're here for you...

Hey Toni, go at things again, but trying to be stronger never worked for me, the reality was my addiction would grind me down in isolation no matter what I was made of, the answer was therefore not relying on my own strength but on utilising the support around me.

Did you have any support yesterday? any SR time, online support, any meetings to go to? . . . having a plan and changing up our days to include more support into them I think is a good way forward.

When life throws us a few curve balls, and it will even in Sobriety, if the only tool we have in the toolbox is still only a bottle, then how can we create an alternative outcome.

You can do this, draw a line, tweak your plan and make Sobriety a reality!!

Hi tonib. You've been struggling lately. Do you have a plan to stay sober and if so are you tweaking it for your struggles? What else can you do if you have a bad day at work? Because there will be more of those. That's just life.

Welcome back Toni. Do you think perhaps this time you might try something different this time? It seems as though just coming here on SR every time you drink might not be enough?

Hi Toni

I agree with Scott - whatever you're doing for a plan seems to break down after a while...

what can you do differently this time? any ideas?

Hi Toni

I'm glad you came back and posted. I agree with some of the above posts that you seem to be struggling lately. Do you have a support plan to help you as you move forward?
