The sobriety didn't last

Well, I had posted some days ago that I wasn't sure why xAbf was not drinking. He had told me that he was saving it for a 'special' occasion.

The special occasion arrived last night. Got out of bed because I couldn't sleep. I went downstairs and lo and behold he is drinking. So, he casually mentions he is drinking to celebrate. I said, 'for what?'. He said it is his 'birthday week'. I laughed. His birthday isn't until next Monday. So, I suppose he will be celebrating it's arrival?

He has an appointment to view a place to live tonight. Please say a prayer for me. I am envisioning a departure on 9/1/16 with no hitches.

So sorry letitend. Even when you know it's inevitable, it's still heartbreaking to have to see him starting up again....
I hope everything works out for you.
Keep us posted.
Big Hugs!!!

I recall the simultaneous feelings of anger and disgust and fear and sadness each time I went down this road with my ex husband starting again. I'm sorry, but it sounds like you have an exit plan and know you will have a much better life!!

Thinking of you...

I remember birthday week! Yes another from the playbook of excuses to be drunk.

The longer I am away from it the clearer it gets as to just how much drinking went on.

The different occasions as reasons to drink never ceases to amaze me. I bet we have heard them all!

Even though we come to expect it I know what a kick in the gut it feels like when they do it. Sorry you're going through it again. Hope things get better for you as you look ahead.
