More than getting out of my head, I've been working on being comfortable in my head because the desire to get out of my head seems to be the root of my problem. Meditation helps me.

Journalling or trying to help others

Taking the time to realise that no matter what I'm going through someone in the world is having a harder time and is surviving that always inspires me and reminds me of just how good life is

Gardening, a good movie, listening to podcasts, working out and playing video games all help me get out of my head. And sometimes I practice just being still without thinking or doing anything at all. My favourite place for that is looking out on my back yard, but any other pleasing view will do.

This is me too. I use mindfulness and deep breathing. My head is a pretty enjoyable place to be now that it's not full of repetitive negative chatter.

I spend time here on SR, reading the experiences of others, practicing my badly underdeveloped "helping skills." It's a steep learning curve but worth it
