(fear) in affects, why sometimes present and sometimes not?
(fear) in affects, why sometimes present and sometimes not?
In the Big Book (fourth edition) on page 65 where it shows the resentment examples, under the "Affects my" column why is (fear) after some and not others?
For instance, under Mr Brown there is the word Security but no (fear). However, under My wife I see Security with (fear).
I asked my sponsor this and the answer was all over the place, not definitive. We were actually at a BB study group meeting (but you can't speak until you've done all 12 steps). So she said she would go ask others at the meeting who were also sponsors and not one person came up with the same answer.
I'm confused. I've even prayed about it.
I'm seeking answers here. I really want to move on with this but want to be sure that I understand this properly.
Thank You

Do not complicate it , this is an ''example'' you choose whatever applies to you whether its security on its own or fear on its own our both , just get on with it and do not get bogged down with ''exactness '' keep it simple , take care .

Well, fear drives our selfishness and self-centered mess.
Hence, as for the inventory question, fear should be bracketed alongside at least one of the affects. I put it in parentheses next to whichever affect(s) (parts of self - or pieces of the ego) felt strongest for that resentment.
Worked for me.

we think fear ought to be classified with stealing. It seems (to appear/pretend) to cause more trouble.
I notice the word seems in this sentence.I remember in the Forward to the first edition it says
we have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.
(and we have recovered)
and
as in war,the victor only seemed to win.
so,the fear is not the cause,it the effect of a even deeper issue,my selfishness and self centeredness. My self reliance failed me and I was scared, because I ran the show and played God.It was me against the world.Fear is one example of how self, manifested itself in my life.Fear causes more problems when left unattended. We do have a AA spiritual solution for it today, trusting and relying in God as we understand God, and we can be set free where fear can not dominate us and run our lifes.
