Relationship patterns: Alcoholic VS codependent

I found this talk so helpful. It break downs dynamics of codependent VS alcoholic/addict and it's cause.

I can relate to many patterns of the codependent behaviour. Even the look at childhood fits. It helped me understand a lot of my actions /reactions while living with an addict and puts light in it.

Here is the link for those who are interested:

If you like discussions on codependents and who they are attracted to and vice versa I would also recommend Lisa Romano, Ross Rosenberg and Richard
Grannon. Richard can be pretty heavy duty so maybe save him for last haha

Thabks a lot for the tips. Yes I do like it as it helps me see my own mistakes and points at my own issues I need to work on. Quite an eye opener.

I realized this was my second codependent relationship and because my first ex didn't have alcohol/addiction issues I didn't know/notice. The last ex was heavy duty and it finally hit me after 1,5 year of terrible relationship. I still tried to work on it and forgave every episode.
