37 Weeks
I am now at 37 Weeks sober.
Counseling session is set for this month. I have hit a little plateau with the exercise and weight loss, so I am going to try some interval training and tighten the diet up a little. Watching the Olympics gets me so inspired to get in better shape.
I had a couple of scenarios this past week I had to deal with. One was at a dinner party and a friend asked if I had ever tried a certain gin. I said no and he proceeded to pull out a bottle to show me - fortunately he did not ask if I wanted to try it but I was prepared to decline. I did have a brief "what should I do moment" but I was not going to take a drink.
Another was at a weekend pool gathering - most folks know I quit but some didn't and noticed my weight loss. they complimented me and asked what I did and I replied quit drinking and ramped up the exercise. They would reply "oh you just quit beer?" And I would tell them nope - all alcohol. That would invoke a momentary pause of silence followed by a good for you.
This is where having part of your plan to mentally prepare for situation you may be encountering and having coping skills/outs at the ready really comes in handy.
Stick to your plans folks - we can do this.

That's great!
And having some answers at the ready is good.
I had an unexpected, reflexive answer the other day. It was my birthday last Wed and I was off work. The next day, one of my managers asked if I'd had a good one, and what I did - "go have fun, get wasted?" And without missing I beat, I said "oh, nope, I don't drink"! He said, "did you used to or...." and I said "I stopped!" It was cool.
