Welcome Lorie, this is a great place, read around and look at jumping into the August class where people are at the same stage as you. Lots of support and info, good for you, for wanting to take a hard look at this.

Greetings Lori!

You want your life back. That's a terrific goal. But after you emerge from the bad dream of addiction,,,whoa! It could possibly be an even BETTER life than before you started. I'd love to see that happen for you, and I believe it can. Just be patient with yourself and don't try to rush <3

A few years ago I arrived on this site in the same place you're in now. I wanted to get back my life, my dignity and my self-respect. Sobriety has given me all this and much more. The help, support and advice from the people on here has been invaluable.

Welcome. Keep reading and posting, and take sobriety one day at a time.
Avoid the HALT triggers (Hunger-Anger-Lonely-Tired ) and approach any transient feelings of discomfort as inevitable and something that will pass.
Things DO get better when we make a plan and stick to it. Dee's thread on making a plan is very good.
