Hello, newbie here
Finally feeling ready to actually work on ridding my problem with beer. I found your site by googling is a "6pk too much"...I've seen it over and over ruin relationships for me, events with friends and my love of singing, making a fool of myself when I actually can sing well. Yet I always go back to the demon and justifying having just a few...but never get past 3 days without. Today is day 2... I just got back from a funeral reception and drank soda . My neighbors who know me seemed shocked as they've seen my recycle bin full of "empties" and tipsy times... I'm very self motivated with challenges and feel stronger now. This is how I quit smoking 7 yrs ago, challenged myself and found support forums. I live alone and have chronic back pain issues that beer has helped at times shadow ...this will be a new life for me....Thank you for adding me on board!!
Jesse,
Welcome aboard.
The difficult to overcome crave to drink every 3 days means you are an addict.
Alcoholic was such a strong term to process for me.
Addict is truthful. You are currently physically and mentally addicted to booze.
Booze is a drug. Unfortunately, the mental addiction is chronic. We all have it forever. Physically, we can get clean in a few days to a month or so.
Knowing this you can decide if you want to remain a drug addict or not.
Thanks for the post.

Welcome Jesse..
Glad to have you here. I'm just coming back as well. Just finishing day 1.
Sober recovery has helped me get and stay sober before.
Why don you join the august class of 2016? We are all in the same place.
