Proud to be at 90 days
Proud to be at 90 days
Such a great day. I reached 90 days today! The days before my sobriety date were complete chaos. I took my first chip today as I wanted to reach at least 90 days. It was just a personal goal I set for myself since my past always showed my relapses around 3 months. I feel so great.
The meeting tonight was a birthday meeting, so they bring out this blue chair for this occasion as there is some history behind it. I was both nervous and looking forward to speaking. This was my first time sharing since I completed my steps so there must have been about 50 to 60 people in there. The question was how did I get to where I'm at now in my sobriety. I talked about the mess before I decided to get sober. What led me to it and what I'm doing now. My nervousness turned into being very comfortable with all these eyes staring at me, and I could've went on for many more minutes. My wife was there in support along with my 6 yr old daughter. She usually watches youtube videos with head phones on, but she took them off when I went up to speak. She asks me all the time to tag along to my meetings.
Going to and actually working the AA steps was the best thing I could've ever done in my life.
Sure life isn't perfect, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than what it was while I was drinking!

Yay! Good job.
You talked about your ESH which is always the way to go in that kind of setting. We don't get to talk to the group til our 1 yr and anniversary chips- cool that you got to share an early milestone, particularly for people with less time.
Keep going!
