Sometimes we forget
Sometimes we get so caught up in our addictions, the dark and ugly baggage that tags along with it, and a feeling of being all alone while we struggle to seek sobriety. We sometimes forget how lucky we are to be able to openly share our feelings and experiences with others going through the same struggles we are or who have already achieved what we are seeking. Through SR we have a safe place to bring our troubles, share our secrets, and to ask the questions we can't seem to find an answer for. Even though we all come from different walks of life, we are able to come together for support and to find comfort in knowing that we aren't truly alone in our journey.
I only have one more week before I go back to work and my posting becomes erratic. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being there for me this last week as I transitioned home from rehab. It was a scary and uncomfortable transition for me but I took comfort in reading and posting here. I am building up my own strength by sharing in yours. I thank you for that.
I hope that the newcomers who are lurking here will gain the confidence to reach out to this community for guidance and support. It really helps to share in this safe and anonymous forum full of people we can relate to.
Hope you all have a great day

make sure you get the SR app on your phone and keep it handy as you transition back to work.
I imagine that may be a step that could come along with new sobriety challenges.
Though you'll have less time to post - I have found that even just popping in for a few minutes on lunch to read a few posts is an uplifting action I can take even when I'm super busy, which helps keep my sobriety strong.

Thank YOU earthsteps!
I always benefit from reading your posts. You yourself make SR as special as it is. I hope that transitioning back to work goes well and that your work gives you satisfaction. "Erratic" or otherwise, we are here for you as you have been for us.
Stay well and stay strong

In some ways it is easier when you're working - you are busy and have less time to think about "getting sober". In the evenings after dinner, log on to SR to touch base. Helps with the de-stressing from work (instead of drinking).
We're glad you're part of us, Bug. I found SR quite by accident searching for health issues caused by drinking. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. That was 9 yrs. ago. I saw myself in so many posts - couldn't believe I wasn't all alone anymore. What a relief.
