Never give up
Feeling so grateful to be alive today. 6 months sober again after the hardest relapse that I very nearly didn't come back from.
I relapsed after years of sobriety, and then had one relapse after another until one night I took a bunch of pills, kissed my husband goodnight and went to bed alone. Not planned, not even thought about until I looked at the pile of antidepressants and pain killers and saw a glimmer of light...I had felt totally lost and hopeless. I couldn't find a sponsor and was trawling a lot of meetings where I wasn't hearing what I needed to hear. I felt that everyone was sick of me and had abandoned me. Even amongst my family, I felt totally alone.
But I woke up the next day, and although I was very sick, I was alive.
Today I have a sponsor. I have re-worked the steps, I am living each day filled with hope and gratitude.
I know I have a long long way to go, but I'm back on the path, and enjoying the walk.

Thanks for your share. You are giving me hope. Right now I'm just praying that my husband will forgive me for my most recent drunk and that it will be my last and we can get on with our lives. It's always when I start slacking off on what I know helps me that this happens.
