Finally sleeping, but....

So I saw the Psych Dr. finally. I'm not comfortable with him, but I'm willing to give him a chance. There's much more to this story, but it can wait.

He gave me the meds I was on a year ago and included Trazodone, which I had heard helps for sleep. It did. I got 8 hrs Saturday night and 7 last night. I wake up once in the night.

But oh it brings it's own complications!!!! It is very sudden. I slag around all day like a zombie, I look like hell, and just generally "huh? wha? wha's going on?" My memory is still beyond bad. I think this is going to be another massive adjustment.

I hope this is normal. I almost miss my super-aware, albeit memory-less, etc. 62 days of always awake

Thanks Della. By adjust do you mean that you started to feel the positive effects of sleep? Maybe sounds like a silly question, but I don't remember "good" sleep as I lost it 3 yrs. ago (was using alcohol, but my journals say that I wasn't really "sleeping").

Thanks

Yeah took about a week to not feel zombified in the morning Now I sleep through the night and wake up feeling great.

I've taken it for 22 years!! 150-225 mg.. a night. I love the sleep I get but usually it's around 10 hours. I've taken them for so many years I can't get off of them/along with Prozac. Withdrawals are too much! I'd ask about reducing the dose until you don't need them. Or look into more natural sleep ingredients. Amazon has a lot of them...herbs, etc. ..or the health food stores although Dr.s discourage them...of course.

Thanks so much for the feedback, folks. So very helpful.

Keeping the dose as low as possible in case of tolerance. Also read up on the Melatonin I ordered, and apparently people take way too much 3-10 mg. I ingest a teeny tiny bit and it seem to complement the meds. Also hoping the scary nightmares so many of us get will diminish.
As always, must remind myself to be patient.

Thanks again, good friends.
