arrested again

Well my xAH got arrested for public intox again. Thats the 2nd one this year. His visitation has been suspended for 8 months so far and all he had to do was make it another month to try and get it back. My daughter doesnt recognize him anymore, and doesnt talk about him either. We still have to go to court for a custody hearing in a month which is terrifying, but given what happened I have a feeling the courts wont be happy.

And me? I feel sort of relieved. I knew he wasn't getting help, but I couldnt prove he was drinking either with the PO in place. He basically did my homework for me. Its kind of sad to get to a point where I am relieved he got arrested again. But honestly I have stopped wondering if he will ever get help, as long as my daughter is safe, I just dont care anymore. Doesnt seem like he does either.

It's sad what the practicing alcoholic does to the ones around them and to themselves. I refer to it as " Running With The Liquid Devil".

Glad to hear you are better and maybe now he will get some help.

There are a million stories just like yours when it comes to alcoholism.

Thanks for the post.

Until the people that enable him finally cut the cord, I think hes stuck in this cycle for a while.

But, I hold my daughter a little tighter each night knowing shes safe with me now.

Sad situation, but glad this will tell it's own story at the custody hearing.

Hugs.

I feel like a bad person for being relieved. But it just makes keeping my daughter safe easier.

You're not a bad person - you're a great mom.
