Need a sober buddy
Need a sober buddy
Howdy my name is David and I don't want to get into my life story I just really need a friend I can talk to when I'm feeling weak or thinking about relapsing to get my head straight or I them. And actually I just need a friend period right now after dropping all my user "friends" and have found myself alone. I am looking for someone who has a sincere desire to abstain and can be truthful even to the point of hurting. If your into philosophy, spirituality, metaphysics, books, health consciousness, you know that kinda stuff then that would be even cooler. If anyone is interested pm me or post here and I'll get back to you. Thank you for your time, many blessings.
Welcome aboard Dave. I'm sure you'll find friends here.
When I first came to SR I just about broke down - the sense of relief in finding people who understood my problem was immense.
You're not alone here

Welcome Dave. You will find lots of support here. Generally the more yiu can tell us about what you're struggling with, the more relevant replies can be.
Have you thought about going along to NA or similar in your area? I found myself feeling very adrift when I stopped drinking, as all my friends in the end were heavy drinkers (Well in the beginning and middle as well if I'm honest - that was kind of how I justified my own drinking). Going to AA meant that initially I wasn't isolating. It gave me a focus and routine, and a place to go, rather than just rotting in my pit of misery. After a while i made some good friends there, and some of these I see outside of AA as well as at meetings. Besides which, you would pick up some good advice and tips for recovery. https://www.sober.com/meetings/na?city=salisbury
