Lightbulb Rekindling the Spiritual Fire

After some time in recovery, I find I distance myself from people in the rooms and my spirituality. I have gotten complacent and use it as a chairholder for fear - once fear enters, the entire show is his. Rekindling that spiritual fire once I've been on idle for a while is tough, and I don't recommend losing that connection in the first place. But it is possible to light the flame once more. It only takes willingness. I can't rely on yesterday's recovery to keep me sober today.

Complacency has got me into some bad places in the past. It grows like a weed. I agree the idle time is hard to get out off but I wish you the best of luck in doing so.

Hi AmbrosiaBlue, I find that reading, and hopefully posting the odd helpful comment to those that have only just started their journey helps to remind me how things were which in turn reinforces my commitment to sobriety
