8 months today
I find sobriety a better way of life thats for sure, I do get my moments from time to time but I practice the steps when that happens, get to meetings. AA is a huge part of my recovery I couldn't do it without them, the fellowship is amazing! Ive made tons of new friends too. For me its very much about keeping it in the day, I keep everything in the day it helps curb my anxiety and thus reduces the need to pick up.
I am really pleased having reached this milestone today, Ive been thinking of picking up again recently, just out of know where a bottle of wine looks appealing, but I play the tape forward and know where that bottle of wine will take me - nah not worth it! So today, Im 8 months sober it really really is amazing considering I couldn't do any more than 3 days with out a drink. This time last year I was coming to the end of my drinking, I was in a bad way, Im glad to be free from all that, its a relief to be sober
